ZRDC Calls for Africa to Lead in Knowledge Creation Through Indigenous Research

‎The Zambia Research and Development Centre (ZRDC) has challenged African nations to take the lead in producing knowledge through indigenous research and innovation at the ongoing International Multi-disciplinary Conference 2025 held in Lusaka.

‎In a speech delivered at the conference, ZRDC Director Dr. Chisala C. Bwalya said the continent must move from being a consumer of external knowledge to becoming a creator of home-grown solutions tailored to its unique social and economic challenges. He emphasized that indigenous research is key to building a productive and self-determining society.

‎Dr. Bwalya further highlighted the need for inclusive research platforms that promote equal participation among researchers and innovators from different disciplines and backgrounds. He noted that such inclusivity enhances knowledge sharing across socio-economic and disciplinary boundaries, strengthening collaboration and innovation.

‎The International Multi-disciplinary Conference has attracted presenters and keynote speakers from across Africa and beyond, including Russia, South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, and Zambia, providing a platform for robust dialogue, networking, and cross-border knowledge exchange aimed at advancing development.
