About Us
A leading hub for research, innovation, and sustainable development in Zambia and Southern Africa
The Zambia Research and Development Centre (ZRDC) is a leading multidisciplinary research and innovation institution headquartered in Lusaka, Zambia. Established in 2007 by a consortium of academics, scientists, and development professionals, ZRDC was founded with one mission — to generate actionable knowledge that drives Zambia’s socio-economic transformation.
Registered under the Ministry of Home Affairs as a non-governmental organization (NGO) and accredited by multiple national and regional bodies, ZRDC serves as a bridge between research, policy, and practice. For nearly two decades, the Centre has provided evidence-based insights and innovative solutions to some of Zambia’s most pressing challenges — from poverty and governance to education, digital transformation, and sustainable agriculture.
Our approach blends scientific rigor with community impact, ensuring that research outcomes translate into tangible development results.
